Growroom Week 5 – Thai Pumpkins

Welcome back to The Growroom! 🙂

Over the last few weeks in The Greenhouse Effect Grow Room, we have been following the growth of our Thai Pumpkin seeds.

They have been coming along nicely with consistent growth and, as promised, this week we’ll show you the root development in the ones we potted on with our chosen additives.

This will be the last week of the pumpkins for now and we’ll revisit them in the future to see how they got on!

If you remember in week 2 we potted on our Pumpkins from the Jiffy Pellets into Square Pots… and in 5 pots we added Hydrotops Bactivator, in 5 pots we added Plant Success Great White, and in 5 we used pH-balanced water.

This week we have taken them out of their pots to show you the root development, so let’s take a look!

 

Back to the Roots…

Here are the roots from the pumpkins with Hydrotops Bactivator…

As you can see, the root development was much more evident on the pumpkins where we used our chosen additives, with increased root activity.

Conclusion

It just goes to show the importance of using the right additives to help your plant’s early growth, ultimately creating a much healthier plant with larger root foundations enabling better nutrient uptake.
