Acoustic Ducting
Please note: A £3.50 volumetric surcharge applies to 10", 12" and 14" acoustic ducting supplied in 10m lengths due to parcel size.
Acoustic Ducting
Our Acoustic Ducting is designed to reduce noise travelling through ventilation systems, helping to create a quieter environment when using extraction fans, carbon filters and other ventilation equipment.
Unlike standard flexible ducting, this insulated ducting features a micro-perforated inner duct surrounded by 25mm fibrewool insulation. This construction helps absorb fan and airflow noise while also providing thermal insulation.
A protective liner separates the fibrewool from the inner duct, helping to prevent insulation fibres from entering the airflow and reducing moisture transfer into the insulation. The durable outer jacket is manufactured from a multi-layer Aluminium/PET material, offering flexibility and strength.
Available in diameters from 4" to 14" (100mm to 355mm), our acoustic ventilation ducting can be purchased by the metre or in 10 metre boxes.
How to Fit Acoustic Ducting
Acoustic ducting has an insulated outer layer, so it is important to connect and secure the inner duct correctly.
- Expose the inner duct: Carefully pull back the outer jacket and fibrewool insulation to reveal the inner ducting.
- Connect to your equipment: Slide the inner duct over the male spigot of your extraction fan, carbon filter or duct fitting.
- Secure the connection: Use a Jubilee clip, fast clamp or suitable duct tape to fasten the inner duct securely to the spigot.
- Replace the insulation: Pull the insulation and outer jacket back over the connection, then secure the outer covering with suitable duct tape.
- Position the ducting: Gently stretch the ducting and keep it as straight as possible to minimise airflow resistance and turbulence.
Joining two lengths? Use a correctly sized male duct connector. Secure the inner ducting from both lengths to the connector, then reposition and seal the insulation and outer jackets.
Installation Advice
For the best airflow and noise reduction, keep ducting runs as short and straight as practical. Avoid tight bends, kinks and unnecessary restrictions.
Where a change in direction is required, consider using a Pressed or Sectional Duct Bend. These provide a consistent bend radius, helping to minimise turbulence and maintain efficient airflow.

Key Features & Benefits
- Reduces ventilation noise: Helps absorb sound travelling through ducting from extraction fans and moving air.
- Insulated construction: 25mm fibrewool provides acoustic and thermal insulation.
- Protective inner liner: Helps prevent insulation fibres from entering the airflow.
- Flexible and durable: Suitable for a range of ventilation installations.
- Multiple sizes available: Choose the correct diameter for your ventilation equipment.
- Sold by the metre or box: Suitable for both short connections and longer ducting runs.
Choosing the Right Acoustic Ducting
Select a ducting diameter that matches the spigot size of your extraction fan, carbon filter or ventilation fitting.
Using the correct diameter helps maintain airflow and avoids unnecessary restrictions within your ventilation system.
For customers looking to reduce fan noise further, acoustic ducting can also be used alongside a suitable duct silencer.
