Available in 13mm and 20mm sizes, these valve only allow liquid to flow in one direction and can be taken apart for cleaning.
Sizing
The sizes are the outside diameter of the fitting and should matched to the internal diameter of the hose pipe that you are using. In practice there is a degree of flexibility, for example(using the method described below) the 13mm model can be used with 12.5mm hose pipe and most users of the 20mm model actually use it with 19mm hose pipe.
Use
As hose pipes can vary in the exact diameter produced, sometimes fittings can be quite tight to connect, the simple solution is to place the end of the pipe in some hot water to soften it before connecting the fitting, This also has the effect of creating a tighter seal as it cools.
If you are using these fittings in a high pressure dripper system, we advise using jubilee clips to secure the pipe.
