LightHouse 3kW Greenhouse Heater 

This is a fan heater that works by pushing hot air out via an element and fan, being 3 kw, it is more powerful than the majority of hobbyist heaters in the market and enter the ‘professional’ arena of shop space heaters

A function without heater setting means the product can also be used as a simple fan to provide cool and circulating air.

The tubular design is considered ‘professional’ as it emulates gas heaters and is considered more efficient in both its output and the space that it inhabits.

Set up and use

This heater has a built-in basic controller that can be used to set an approximate heat.

Firstly position the heater in a suitable location, away from water, with the back of the heater at least 30cm from any wall, glass or anything that could be sucked into the fan and the front at least 60cm from anything that could be adversely affected by heat.

Place a thermometer approx. 30cm above the heater, set the heater to the desired setting(1.5 or 3kw) ,set the temperature dial to maximum and turn the heater on, the heater can now be left on until the required temperature is achieved, next step is to slowly turn the temperature dial down until a soft click is felt.

The heater will now switch itself on and off at this setting.

Please bear in mind that this control is basic and doesn’t account for changes in the weather, these settings may need to be altered often.

Precise Control

Lighthouse Heaters can be used with an external thermostat, this enables the gardener to control the temperature with much more accuracy as the thermostat will measure the temperature and switch the heater on and off, this will maintain the correct heat even when the outside temperature changes. If the outside is warmer than the thermostat setting, it won’t turn the heater on at all.

The Bio Green Thermo 2 Thermostat is perfect for this, its temperature sensor has a 1.5m lead which can be placed where required and is simple to use.
