The Root+ Horticultural Heat Mats provide a simple and effective way to maintain the ideal temperature for propagating seeds and rooting cuttings. By supplying gentle, even heat from below, they help create the perfect environment for faster germination and stronger root development.
Designed to deliver consistent warmth without overheating, they are safe to use with propagators and young plants.
How to Use
Place the heat mat on a flat, dry surface and position your propagator or seed tray directly on top.
Most seeds and cuttings perform best at temperatures between 20°C and 25°C. For the most accurate control, pair your heat mat with a compatible thermostat, allowing you to maintain a precise temperature between 10°C and 30°C.
For improved efficiency and to minimise heat loss, an insulated mat can be placed beneath the heat mat.
Growing Tip
Plug the heating mat or the heated propagator into the thermostat and set to the desired temperature, normally 22 degrees C. Then place the thermostatic probe inside propagator, normally near but not in the soil, this will give you an good idea of the root temperature.
