One project we’re particularly proud of involved helping Ilfracombe Aquarium upgrade its water cooling system using the Hailea HC-1000A Water Chiller.
The aquarium needed a dependable cooling solution to maintain the ideal conditions for one of its most fascinating residents—Orca the octopus. Working alongside the team, the Hailea HC-1000A provides the stable water temperatures required for a healthy marine environment, helping to create the ideal conditions for both the animals and the aquarium team who care for them every day.
It’s a brilliant example of how reliable environmental control equipment can support professional aquariums, ensuring temperature-sensitive species remain comfortable throughout the year.
From Public Aquariums to Family Pets
Professional aquariums aren’t the only places where reliable equipment matters.
Recently, one of our customers, Pippa, contacted us after the water chiller in her axolotl aquarium developed a fault.
Knowing how important stable water temperatures are for these remarkable amphibians, we acted quickly to make sure a replacement reached her as soon as possible.
A few days later we received a wonderful update.
The new chiller was running perfectly, and her two axolotls, Toothless and Luna, were already doing much better.
Receiving messages like this is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Behind every order is more than a piece of equipment—there’s often a much-loved pet depending on it.
Happy Fish, Happy Customers
Another memorable story came from our customer Sue, who contacted us after purchasing a Hailea V60 Air Pump for her garden pond.
Once the new air pump was installed, oxygen levels returned to normal and her pond’s residents were soon thriving again.
What made Sue’s email so memorable wasn’t just her kind words about our customer service—it was the introduction to her pond’s colourful cast of characters.
Monty, Obee, Joe, Tonto, Splodge and Del all featured in a wonderful photograph she sent us after the installation.
According to Sue, Del is the politest fish she’s ever known, patiently waiting his turn at feeding time while everyone else rushes in first. Joe and Splodge even enjoy being gently stroked while they’re fed.
It’s stories like these that remind us how deeply people care for the animals they keep, and why dependable equipment and responsive customer service really matter.

During the warmer months, maintaining good airflow can make a significant difference for livestock and farm animals too.
One of our favourite customer photos featured Kitty, a Valais Blacknose ewe, relaxing with her adorable lambs Norris and Norma-Jean while staying cool thanks to one of our high-performance RAM wall fans.
