The Standard IWS system you all the benefits of flood and drain at an economical price.
Flood and drain is a horticultural technique whereby nutrient rich solution is pumped into a container, filled with growing media, and then pumped back out.
The draining process draws air into the media which helps keep the rootzone healthy, promotes vigorous growth and exceptional yields.
Use
IWS flood and drain systems can be used with a variety of media such as coco, 60/40(coco/clay), clay pebbles and some growers use soil but for the best results we recommend a good quality 60/40 mix such as Gold Label.
– The grower has a choice of inner pot to suit the media used.The Aqua Pot is perfect for use with clay pebbles.
– The Culture Pot is ideal for use with 60/40 or coco.
– The Punched Pot can be used with any media but is best suited to soil or coco.
The IWS Standard Flood and Drain comes with the following size of Flexi Tank (if you require a different size, contact us for details).
6 Pot – 100 litre
12 Pot – 250 litre
18 Pot – 250 litre
24 Pot – 250 litre
36 Pot – 400 litre
48 Pot – 400 litre
The system includes reservoir, inner and outer pots, all pipework, brain and timer.
(Pot stands and copper discs are not included with the Standard system but can be added as extras).
*The system shown in the image is filled with clay pebbles, these are not included in the system.
Configuration
All IWS Brains have 6 outlets to create 6 starting lines(ie a 6 pot system has 6 lines with 1 pot on the end, 12 pot system has 2 pots on each line etc)
All systems come standard with 6 elbow’s and enough flexi pipe to allow each of the outlets on the brain to be used to create 6 lines, tee’s are used for any additional pots.
For example,
6 Pot System – Fit the pots with the supplied sealing glands and elbows, then connect each pot to an outlet on the brain with flexi pipe measured and cut to suit the pot location
12 Pots or more – As above but the 1st pots in a line are fitted with a tee, the final pot in a line is fitted with the elbow.
The order of each line is: brain outlet, pipe, pot(s) with sealing gland and tee, pipe then finish the line with a pot fitted with sealing gland and elbow.

Tips
Soaking the pieces of flexi pipe in hot water before fitting make it much easier to connect the system together, when it cools it provides a better seal than connecting the pipe cold.

Extending your system
Add on modules are available for each model of IWS Flood and Drain, they contain all of the components required to add another pot to your existing system and are supplied with a tee.
Non Standard Layouts
If you would like to layout your IWS in a different way, you can purchase extra tee’s, sealing glands and stop ends separately. If you don’t want to use all of the outlets on the brain, simply connect a small piece of flexi pipe to the outlet and plug the end with a stop end.
