Tomato Season has Ended in the Polytunnel

For many of you, your tomato season has just started to ramp up but mine has had to come to an early end.
On reflection and looking back at this growing season, many lessons have been learnt.
1. Not starting my seeds too early
2. Potting on needs done at the correct time
3. Fully understand feeding patterns
4. Ensure my Autopot system is clean prior to use.
5. Not scrimp on compost
6. Not to cut back heavy on my plants
There are many more to list but I see these as being my main problems this year.
Given the Autopot system early this year, my season could have been much better and will be next year. After visiting the “summer social”, seeing what the boys had done in those grow houses left me wanting more and to better this season.
Given all of the above, I still managed a good crop of tomatoes and still have the ones at home growing well, so it’s not all over yet.
Next year I have settled on just 9 varieties of which I’ll be growing 3-4 of each just in case.
I wish you all a magnificent growing season and I will be back bigger and better next season.
